Angus Haldane is Director of London-based Haldane Fine Art, an art dealership and consultancy. He is also a lecturer and art historian.
Angus studied Classics at Oxford University specializing in history, literature and antique sculpture. After Oxford, Angus graduated with an MA in Byzantine and Early Renaissance art from the Courtauld Institute before joining the commercial art world. Angus worked for many years as a senior specialist in paintings at Christie's and Sotheby's where he developed considerable experience of attributing, valuing, and researching pictures from the sixteenth century to the present day.
Angus is a regular contributor to the Art & Business courses at Sotheby's Institute of Art. He has catalogued museum collections, provides consultancy to some of London's leading Art Advisors, has lectured on the History of Art in Italy and Greece, and is currently writing a book on English painting of the Baroque age. |
